Jesus told His Disciples at His last Passover meal with them that He has given them and example and they should do as He had done to them (John 13:15). After his resurrection He told the Disciples to go to all nations and teach them to observe all things He commanded them (Matt 28:19-20). Paul told the Corinthians to follow his example as he follows Christ (1 Cor 11:1). On Pentecost, (after Jesus had ascended to heaven), “And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship,” (Acts 2:42). 1 John 2:4, 6 tell us, “He that says, I know him, and keeps not his commandments, is a liar and the truth is not in him.” “He that says he abides in him ought himself also to walk, even as he walked.”
